, Mafia. Remember those stab in the dark games you played as a kid, where one person was selected as the murderer (unbeknown to the others) and had to kill(..no not for real) everyone without letting them figure out who is the killer. Well, now you can play online with people you don’t even know!
Epicmafia is completely nonprofit and easy to sign up. Even simpler is the concept: To get rid of the Mafia members through Lynches. A few roles are added in, and there are several setups and variations that will keep you from playing the same game often, a incredibly welcome aspect.
Within Epicmafia is a point system. You gain a set number of points for winning a game as each role, and lose them for leaving (AKA Suicide) or being inactive. There are a few privileges you have to earn, but these do not take long to earn. Gaining score lets you impact the community, whether it be ranking games or giving -Negative Karma to a suicider. There is a heart system, 1 heart is required to enter a ranked game and you gain 10 hearts every day.
With every community comes its letdowns, and Epicmafia sadly has no exceptions. A person who leaves a game kills themselves, and both removes their role and making the game unranked. There are huge annoyances some days, when a guy or two decide to come and suicide in every game, making it incredibly hard to get into a ranked game. Also some players can be AFK and not vote, which causes everyone to either wait on the person or kick them (Unranking the game). Although there are heavy point and heart punishments, most suiciders cannot be stopped or bothered by these. Don’t get me wrong, there are still a few players who may be lynched but most do it just to make people angry.
Don’t get me wrong; there are still some legitimate and intelligent players in Epicmafia who make up a nice bit of the community. Although there are some unattended weeds, it is understandable as there is only one admin. If you get into a nice game, there certainly is fun to be had in Epicmafia.
