Credits to Didi Cardoso I was one of the fortunate first hundreds to join the closed beta stage for Cabal Online. I don't know, there is just something about betas that attracts me, but it's especially the fact that I get to experience something first-hand before the game world starts getting crowded. Unfortunately, even the closed beta was cut short for North-American users because of overpopulation. The number of users ended up in four times the server capacity. I mean, if it's a closed beta, you should be controlling how many people you're allowing in, right? Well, apparently not, so I only got to play for a couple of weeks (especially because downloading the client through a torrent took me days), but it was enough to get a good grasp of the game mechanics and overall feel of the game. Cabal Online is a very popular third-person Korean MMORPG that is now being released in English. If you have played any MMO before, you will feel comfortable with the interface right away. If you haven't played any MMO before, you will adjust quickly, since the game itself teaches you what to do via quests right from the beginning. Character creation is a fairly easy point and click process. The interface gives you a good description of each of the available six classes (battle styles). You have Warrior (pure melee), Wizard (pure caster), Blader (which is basically the class that can dual-wield weapons), Force Archer (ranged combat), Force Blader (a mix of magic combat with sword skills) and the one I picked, Force Shielder (blade and magic shield combat). There are enough customization options for face and hair, but the character creation screen doesn't really explain which stats are the most important for each class, so you're not wasting your points distributing them into the wrong stats. Although I didn't try the others, I really enjoyed playing a Force Shielder. It抯 pretty cool how you have to "summon" your shield before you head to combat, since you carry around a magic crystal instead of an actual shield. The most unique aspect of Cabal compared to other MMOs is that you don't just push a button and your character auto-attacks. Combat requires you to use your regular attack and special skills, so you have to constantly be pressing those hotkeys. Skills are purchased from trainers, but you are only allowed a limited number of them for each category. If you decide you don't want a certain skill, you can forget it to make room for another. Aside from skill combat, there is a complex combo system that requires you to first activate it and then time your special skill attacks for the combo to keep going. If you miss to use a skill when the meter tells you to, the combo breaks. I never got the hang of it. The good news is, you don't get experience just upon a kill: every hit earns you some experience points, and the higher the hit, the more experience you get. Moving around is as simple as point and click. The game's GPS system already has all NPCs marked on the map with icons and a legend, it will show you Warp Gate locations when you discover them, and it will mark quest-related locations for where you must go or who you must talk to next. There is also a handy feature that marks areas in a color-coded scale according to the difficulty of monsters, so you know not to venture to the red zones. The GPS system includes maps for all the world areas. During the beta stage, there were three worlds open, Bloody Ice, Green Despair and Desert Scream, but there are eight in total. Each has its own very unique landscape, NPCs and monsters, and you will see how the classes vary from town to town, so apparently everyone has their own starting point set according to the battle style they chose at character creation. To navigate from world to world, there is a room with doors that teleport you to where you want to go. In this room there is also another door that takes you to dungeons. Dungeons offer you the choice to adventure by yourself or in a party, and many quests require you to go in to one of them and clear every monster inside within a time limit. These are a blast to complete, since they put your skills to the test (especially promotion quests, which you do every 10 levels for class advancement), and as soon as you enter you are accompanied by some very cool rock music. Other interesting features include an in-game lottery, crafting and item upgrading, which is very similar to the one in Thang. PVP combat is also an option especially on a large scale. Aside from Guild wars, Cabal introduces Planetary wars where a series of new dungeons are waiting to be discovered. I found Cabal to be a very sharp and beautiful game, especially the detail on the characters and their equipment. The animations are really nice and I spent quite a bit of time experimenting with all the emote commands to see how they moved. They're very fluid and realistic, and I was particularly amused by my character's cheerful dance. In the end, Cabal Online showed great potential during the beta stage. The originality of the classes and combat system made it stand out, and I'm sure that with time it will be competing with mainstream titles, especially because you don't need a powerful system to run it. Give it a try and see how you like it.

Credits to Deoalmighty CABAL Online: Not exactly a revolution. MMORPG's have had a sort of a boon as of late, and many games developers have jumped into the bandwagon to cash in on trend. Given the vast (though no exactly diverse) competition, CABAL online promises players a different gaming experience, claiming to be a ‘revolution of action' in the rather archetypal genre. Quite a tall order. Onto Review. GRAPHICS 7/10 The visuals get the job done, and then some. As the game starts off, the graphics will look rather dated. Only through the leveling central in all MMORPG's will you witness the full extent of CABAL's visuals. Forfeiting the graphics for the character itself, the game focuses intensely on the quality of equipment and skill animations. As your character progresses, the previously bland equipment and surroundings will improve significantly. Character armor is sufficiently colored, glowmapped and, designed, and will only get better as the player clocks in more game levels. Mobs are well done, varied, and interesting, showcasing some rather creative design and texturing, though this is only noticeable through close up inspection. One may say that earlier on, monsters actually look better than the character. But skills are what really crank up the points, for the sheer flamboyancy of their presentation will leave most of the other factors unnoticed. CABAL employs distortion graphics (similar to bullet time weapon trails in V for Vendetta) quite expertly, and the vibrancy of hitsparks and other such combat effects make for a rather satisfying viewing experience. As with equipment, skill graphics improve dramatically with character experience. But as good as the presentation is, the overall aesthetic of the game is in a bit of conflict; something you will notice from the get go. The start-up/login screens feature a futuristic, angular look, so a new player will likely expect a sci-fi themed game. But when you do login, you will be treated to worlds more reminiscent of Diablo 2. Furthermore, the characters design is heavily mecha-inspired, as if your avatar had travelled back a few millennia to this current setting. Simply put, the players don't fit in too well in the world. SOUND 6/10 If you do play this, you'll probably be doing it muted. The musical tracks are very nice, varying greatly from the mandatory heavy battle music, to the more soothing area tunes. But they are also very short, so there will be lots and lots of looping. The ‘jukebox' feature of the game does not function as it should (at least with my copy) so if you do like the music, repeated playbacks will probably grate it out of your preference. The sounds, while being suspiciously familiar, get the job done. They are really nothing to remember, and will get a bit annoying the longer you play. STORY 2/10 Oh, god. I can sense a small glimmer of potential from the quest lines, but it simply fades from all the hilarious chaff supposedly called editing. The English is good, but it reads very, very badly. GAMEPLAY 7/10 And so how does it play? Rather well, actually. CABAL online introduces a system that is not quite an innovation, but more of a fusion. It borrows from rhythm based online games, and incorporates the synchronized button-tapping of the genre into its combat. Basically, the imaginatively named ‘combo system' will activate at your command, a gauge will pop up, and a bar of color starts to fill up the gauge. Now, as with most MMORPG's your skills are assigned to hotkeys (in this case, number buttons or numpad, no customization, unfortunately). You are to hit the skill hotkeys as the bar of color rushes up to a certain level of the gauge (something like Final Fantasy 8's limit breaks). Properly doing this earns you extra experience and damage. Chaining hits and killing enemies while still in a combo will increase these bonuses further. The incorporation of this system makes hunting (grinding) much less of a chore, and much more enjoyable, for when you are trying to best yourself pulling off combos, enemies will fall in the droves. But the novel action of the combo system will soon have a very apparent reason, as any enterprising player will realize. The level at which you strengthen your skills in this game is dependent completely on your own patience, for it employs a ‘use skill to level it up' system separate, though still influencing, the character's main statistics. Fans of the Elder Scrolls series will be familiar with this. Essentially, using your skills in magic and swordplay over and over again will earn you skill experience, and the higher your skill ‘level', the more powerful your main stats will become. And as it is ideal to level your skills higher than your stats, you will be using them a lot. What does this mean? The game boasts a questing system similar to World of Warcraft and the majority of western MMO's. And with these quests rewarding quick stat experience, you will soon find your skills lagging significantly behind. So in effect, you grind more often. Once enlightenment of the mechanics is achieved, the game degrades to the grind-fest Asian MMO's are known for. So basically, the combo system is there to make grinding a bit easier. But not to worry, the absolute tedium of PvE is by no means a prequel to the PvP. If the game hooks you in, it's probably because of this. The usage of the combo system remains the same, but you will find seemingly worthless skills like dashing and backdashing soon assigned to hotkeys. PvP in CABAL is a frantic mixture of rhythm game and fighter, requiring the player to be both nimble of hand and in mind. Dodging, attacking, anticipation and timing, all make for an experience with the same tension of actual combat. As you participate, character classes will soon come into a brand new light, as you see how different fighting each can get. And with the class specific super-buffs (deemed ‘battle modes'), fights will get much more interesting. This game may be a kill-and-loot-bump-and-grind affair, but it is to a spectacular end. ECONOMY 5/10 Lack of an auction house or something to a similar effect deals a huge blow to the economy score. I've always thought that personal shops/vending should be replaced completely, as maintaining them is boring and impractical. And seeing as how each and every character class can effectively craft their own equipment to considerable strength without the need of others, trade is a limited to the now relatively barbaric buy-and-sell. But, as with most of the game's aspects, it'll get the job done. SOCIETY 4/10 Not much to see here. Most of the time, the game's lone wolf approach makes other players nothing but experience grabbers. Very little conversation is had, since combos will take up both your hands. And the relatively hostile game atmosphere will make for a poor conversational catalyst. Additionally, there are no group dungeons, partying is supposed to make you level up faster (which is bad for your skills, remember?), and PvP servers actually block names and chat with garbled mixtures of numbers and symbols. But the game is relatively new, so there is still a lot of room for development. OVERALL 7/10 Definitely not for everyone. You should not play this game if you are: - looking for a deep, immersive, gaming experience - extremely impatient - not into the general online gaming trend. This game won't change your opinion But you should give this game a shot if you are: - seaking the ever-popular INSTANT GRATIFICATION - of a lesser attention span/easily amused - playing online games solely for the thrill of confrontation CABAL Online may not revolutionized the genre per se, but it has improved upon some of the aspects. Hopefully, this won't be one of the many online games that fall prey to the power of inept capitalism.

Cabal Online is a Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that is built upon the legend of the ancient world. Players are taken into the world of Cabal, understanding the storyline and their purpose of existence. In the world of Cabal Online, players can choose among 6 character classes (known as Authentic Six), namely Warrior, Blader, Mage, Force Shielder, Force Archer and Force Blader. The first 3 are the 'basic' characters but without the power of the force, the latter three are the 'advanced' jobs, incorporated with the power of the force. Although the latter may all sound fanciful, there isn't really much difference in those characters in terms of capabilities, it rather, depends on how one plays the character.

Currency: In Cabal Online, the currency used is known as Alz, and it is the most basic form of trade, unlike other games that depend a lot of jewels or other rare materials gotten from monsters. Also, Alz can be 'earned', like any other games, from monsters and selling items to shops.

Equipment: Each job has their own set of armoury. Although 2 characters would share the same type of equipment, the armour would require different stats to equip for each character. There are Martial armours, worn by Bladers and Mages, Battle armours for Force Bladers and Force Archers, and also Armour suits worn by Warriors and Force Shielders. There are several advantages for it being set this way. It makes it a lot easier to sell off your armours, since there is a large demand for it. However, this advantage brings about some obvious problems - it is awfully difficult to buy your items since there are others out there requiring the same items. It is up to the players themselves to get the best deals and become the strongest character.

Mission: The unique thing that differentiates Cabal Online from many other MMORPG games has to be the fact that the missions tend to be overwhelming and never-ending. The missions are linked to one another, with main missions and other side quests. The storyline is split into several main missions which will bring the player through different worlds and maps, leading them to exploration and the hunt on stronger monsters. This allows players to experience the storyline of Cabal Online, to understand truly what made Cabal possible. The earlier maps are Bloody Ice, Desert Scream and Green Despair. As players progress through the quests, they would be brought to other towns and areas such as Port Lux, Fort Ruina, Forgotten Ruin, Lake Side and Undead Ground. They would have to battle monsters that never tested their strength to such an extent, difficult battles await as the players explore the towns of Cabal.

Battle: In battles, Cabal Online follows the idea of 3D hunting. Players can move their characters in a 3D manner and engage monsters as they please. Although the levels of players determine the aggressiveness of monsters, some monsters would still be provoked once a player gets into its line of sight. There are combos for the players to throw out with their skills. By throwing in combos, players get skill experience at a faster rate and hence, skill up faster. Cabal allows PvP (Player Versus Player) combat, which means that players could be easily pit against one another to determine who's the better of the two.

Skill: Cabal is similar to World of Warcraft (WoW) in the sense that skills have to be learnt. The experience level of a character matters lesser as compared to the skill level. A level 60 character with a very high skill rank could defeat a level 100 character who is much weaker in terms of skills. Skills are the basic form of offence. The skill is split into 2 parts, namely Sword and Magic skills.

All in all, for those who want a totally new experience in MMORPG but hate to grill for one single level, Cabal Online is the game for you.

Credits to Aryoch Promo Image of Cabal Online Heeyyy!! I hope everyone's doing fine since my last article about PW ^__^ And I wanna thank everyone for reading it, and I hope you ejoyed it =D So, are you guys ready for a nice review of a great game? I hope so o/ My first review is about one of the most enjoyable game that I ever played, yup, its CABAL Online: THe Revolution of action \o/ 1 - Story & Quests First of all, I want to talk a little bit of the storyline and Quest system of the game. Cabal is a Quest system game, it means that if you want to level, you have to do quests to gain a lot of Exp, and you'll gain great amounts of money too. Almost every quest that you doin Cabal is about the game's storyline, you'll advance in history as well as you make more quests and visits different places, and at the end of each "Campaign" you'll see a brief of everything tha has passed since then. 2 - Character Customization & Classes Classes of Cabal Online Now, lets talk about character customization. The first thing that you will do after the Login screen is creating your character!!(Ohhhh Really?? XD) You can choose between the 6 different classes in the game: Wizard, Force Blader, Force Archer, Blader, Warrior and Force Shielder. Everyone with unique skills. Now about the character customization... Unfortunately, Cabal has a poor character customization when it comes to the character's appearance, you can pratically only change the haricut of your char and choose a face from a few pre-determined list, whic will give us a lot of identical characters. Another bad thing its that the Blader uses the same armor as the Wizard, the only thing that makes them different is the weapon that they use. 3 - Battle System Now let's talk about the Battle System as well as the skills. Cabal Online has a feature called "Combo", which allows you to link as many skills as you can in exchange of some SP (Special Points), that you can obtain by dancing () or killing monsters. You pratically will ALWAYS use the Combo feature, leaving the normal attacks behind (but if you encounter a weak monster, you'll probably use a normal attack or a single skill lol). One sad thing about this game is that because of the quest-basesd system, parties pratically don't have much use, especially if the quest is a isolate dungeon that only your character can beat. But there are some "off-side" quests that allows to enter in dungeons wih a party. Oh, almost forgot, the skills in Cabal have amazing animations, you guys will enjoy them very much, they are really beautiful . 4- Production System Another nice feature in Cabal is the Production System, which allows you to make you own equipment, even the most rare ones. In a certain quest you can pick a item called "Transmuter", that will give you the ability to craft a certain type of equipment, there is a transumuter for Armor,  Weapon, Potions and Accessories, but you can pick only one of them. Saddly it takes a lot to increase your crafting level, but if you try a little hard, you can do it!! 5 - GPS GPS GPS is the game map, here you can see where the most importante NPCs are, the best hunter field for your level, your coordinates, and a list of your "Warps", that allows to instantly teleport between the cities. 6 - Nice Stuff Now I'll show some of the other nice things that Cabal has to offer. (Gorgeous Transports like the Astral Bike) Astral Bike (Great graphics and pretty scenarios_ (A great number of skills and wonderful Armor) 7 - Videos YouTube Preview Image 8 - System Requirements CPU Pentium: 3 800MHz + RAM: 512MB + Graphic Cards: 3D accelerator Sound Card: Any DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card Hard Diks Space: 2.5GB + Recomended CPU Pentium: 4 1.4GHz + RAM: 1GB + Graphic Cards: Radeon 9800PRO + /  Geforce 6600GT + Sound Card: Any DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card Hard Diks Space: 2.5GB +     Phhheewww!! Finally finished it I hope you like to review, I tried to talk about the basic and more interesting things in the game, Cabal is a great game, if you think you'll like, give it a try, I'm kinda sure that you won't lose your time. Thanks for visiting, and, see you soon!! \o/

Cabal Online is an action MMORPG game, set in a 3rd person view perspective, which emulates console action gaming. An evil entity known as CABAL decimated the once prosperous Nevareth with a fury and destruction never seen before. The land was left barren, with survivors scattered across the land; all hope seemed lost. Amidst the devastation, seven great masters rose up, wielding the ancient abilities of the Force Power. Their teachings shielded the survivors from the CABAL and allowed them to rebuild. Centuries later, man had all but forgotten their oppresive beginnings and the teachings of the seven masters. For the next thousand years, people have lived in peace, but CABAL is conspiring a new evil again to cleanse the land once more. It is breeding a child to be the new king of the people, and so once again devastation may ensue. This is where the hero (players) have to face the invaders of Nevareth and uncover the conspiracy behind it and defeat it before it's too late. Made world-famous for its high-octane attack system, CABAL allows for combination-based fighting and a whole new type of player vs. player combat. Consistent with the OGPlanet model, CABAL will be free to play, with the option to purchase in-game items and features. In CABAL ONLINE, players are called upon to protect the people of Nevareth from an evil entity known as CABAL. Centuries ago, the evil CABAL all but destroyed Nevareth, but the land was saved and rebuilt by seven great masters wielding the ancient abilities of Force Power. Nearly a thousand years later, CABAL has returned, and it is up to players to master the intricacies of the Force Power and use them to save Nevareth. Set in a diverse environment that includes ice temples, forgotten ruins, desert hideaways, mutant forests and volcanic citadels, CABAL engages players with dynamic quests-not just the "collect 10 of something and bring it to me" variety-and more than 300 dungeons to explore. With 170 levels, CABAL is conducive to either hardcore or casual game play.

Additional CABAL ONLINE features include:

    * An interactive combat system that utilizes combination attacks (precision and timing sensitive) to deliver blow after blow with NPC and PvP encounters.     * Six distinctive classes of characters-Warrior, Force Archer, Blader, Force Shielder, Wizard and Force Blader-each offering an entirely unique game play experience within CABAL.     * An in-game downloadable jukebox that allows players to download their own songs to play while they take on CABAL.     * A fluid fighting interface that brings intuitive and elegant motions to players' fingertips. Different classes bring unique movements and actions to their character both in and out of the battle zone.     * All in-game items can be crafted into new items or enhancement.     * A dynamic character-creation tool with more than 200 options.     * More than 300 dungeons featuring highly original and challenging quest designs to explore.     * Magical and mystical unlockables enhance healing, attacking, crafting and shielding powers.     * Astral cycles and boards allow players to travel great distances in short amounts of time.     * Hundreds of weapon styles, ranging from blade, bow and arrow, guns, and magic, are available.     * Supports multi-player Server-Client.     * A state-of-the-art game engine delivers stunning, high-polygon-count 3D graphics at a sustainable high frame rate, even on low-end machines.     * Unparalleled special effects: dynamic lighting shading, Z-buffering, particle-based effects.     * An engine designed and built by a staff experienced with massive network traffic management to minimize any latency.     * Supports most popular 3D hardware accelerators.
