Fiesta is a free, Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, published by Ons On Soft in Korea, and hosted by Outspark for the North American English market as well as by gamigo for EU territories (in English, German, French and Spanish language; More to come). Like a typical MMORPG, the player's character can adventure across the game's persistent online world, battle characters, level up and raise stats, complete quests, and party with other players. There are also guilds and guild wars, boss raid dungeons and item crafting options. The international English version went through several beta tests before a commercial launch in November, 2007. The German EU Version went into Beta in June 2008 followed by a completely reworked English OB Release (11th of September @8:30), and gamigo is working on a Spanish client as well as a French version in the fall of 2008. The new fiesta website is currently being translated into Italian, French and Spanish. The release of an Italian client is not certain yet. Fiesta features an anime style look with characters rendered in a 3D manner. Likewise, the automatic protect guards and NPCs are depicted in a similar cartoonish style. Currently, Fiesta uses two character models (one male, one female) for each of the four classes. Players are given a specific style of clothing based on their chosen class (Fighter, Cleric, Archer, or Mage) and can choose between three different hair styles and three (very similar) hair colors. There is only one face to select per character class. Players may alter the appearance of their character by purchasing a Beauty Shop Coupon from the Fiesta Store, the game's online item mall. The Beauty Shop unlocks 10 hairstyles, 10 hair colors and 10 face types. One Beauty Shop Coupon allows one permanent change to each of the previous options. The character classes in Fiesta represent only the strictest fantasy RPG archetypes. Each class has three ranks offering a specific path to follow, rather than allowing the player to specialize his or her character. At level 20, players may undertake a quest to promote their character's class to the next rank: Clever Fighter, High Cleric, Hawk Archer, and Wiz Mage respectively. The third rank is achieved by undertaking another quest that is only available once a second rank character has reached level 60. These promotions are required for a character to advance in both skills and the equipment they are allowed to use. Victor Wachter, formerly the Community Relations Manager for Cryptic Studios, recently left his position at Cryptic and took a job with Outspark, the company behind Secret of Solstice, Fiesta Online and more.

Recently, MMORPG.com had the opportunity to speak with Victor not only about his decision, but about Outspark as a company.

MMORPG.com: First of all, what prompted your move from Cryptic Studios to Outspark?   Victor Wachter: That was a tough decision. Cryptic has some great games in development and has a bright future. But when I met with the exec team at Outspark and heard the vision, I was intrigued. Afterward, I checked out the community and found that there's a huge group of fans out there that would be incredibly fun to work with. It's a new business from what I am used to, but it's an opportunity to be a part of a company that is defining a new space in online games.

MMORPG.com: Why, in your opinion, is the free-to-play market looked upon less favorably by the north american "hardcore" MMO audience than their pay to play cousins?   Victor Wachter: To start, there's comfort in familiarity. We're bringing games to the North American market that don't have the long history of the most popular franchises we're all familiar with. So, there's some education that needs to occur, letting people know that we bring high quality and fun games to market. I think that will become more and more apparent as we roll out more games in different genres, like Project Powder and Blackshot.

MMORPG.com: Are communities different for F2P games that P2P, and if so, how?   Victor Wachter: I don't think they're really all that different. At the end of the day, whether you're paying a subscription or playing for free (and whether or not you're buying cash shop items within F2P), it's a group of gamers who want to log in and have fun.

There are always differences that exist because of the specific game you're playing, but I don't think the business model changes the character of the community that much.

MMORPG.com: Can you tell us a little bit about Outspark as a company?   Victor Wachter: Sure. Outspark was founded in 2006 by our CEO Susan Choe. Since then, we've released our two RPG's, Fiesta and Secret of Solstice, in North America. The vision is create a virtual playground of games and begin a social community around them. We run all of the operational functions for those games, including Community, Customer Service, Marketing and in-game events. We have several more games in the pipeline as well.

MMORPG.com: Localization is often an issue that people bring up when they talk about F2P games, How, if at all, does Outspark handle this?   Victor Wachter: We maintain very close ties with the game developers and work with them to make the game accessible and appealing to our market. We have a small staff working locally with the developer to ensure that we accomplish that goal.

MMORPG.com: What does Outspark offer to players that other Free to play studios do not?   Victor Wachter: The vision behind Outspark isn't to just release a bunch of games. Anyone can do that. We want to take the game community a step further and become a social space for people to meet up, show off their characters and post their game art and video. We just launched our new portal, which is the first step to making that a reality.

Fiesta Online Kingdom Quest Guide

Credit to Infused Getting In There is 7 Mara Pirates’ Rage to choose from. The first ones are always the most competitive to get into, but if you don’t get into the first couple don’t get discouraged! It’s usually pretty easy to get into the last ones, and that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good group of people to do it with either.   Objective of Mara Pirates’ Rage Kingdom Quest If your used to doing King Slimes Counterattack, then Mara Pirates’ is going to be a little bit confusing. The objective is to reach the location of two pirates; Mara, and Marlone. To do this you must fight your way through their lackeys’s. The trick to this one is you take the route of fighting the least amount of monsters to quicken the pace. You DO NOT need to kill everything, but it is a good idea to kill everything that you aggro, or people are going to be dying. Step One: Party Up! As soon as you enter into a Kingdom Quest you have three options:   1. Yell “Party Please!” Recommended for new, less experienced Kqers   2. Invite people to a party If you choose this method you should try to be selective of the type of characters you should choose. Make sure to get a cleric! Clerics have buffs, buffs are good. Then you should try to get at least one fighter. Fighters are the damage dealers, and if you have a cleric in your party, he’ll be wanting their heals. The other two spots don’t really matter, but having some damage dealers (mages, and archers} are always nice.   3. ATTACK Be a lone wolf and try to do it yourself. This method is not recommended, you’ll probably die. Step Two: Working towards the bosses   [Insert Picture showing where to fight monsters] Now that you are all partied up, people will start moving forward and killing the monsters. Now you’re probably wondering “What should I be doing?”. Well I’ll break it down class specifically.   Warrior – The Tanker Warriors have a simple job. Be the meat shield. Take all the hits and damage. Hopefully you’ll have a cleric in your party so that he will be able to watch over you, but if you don’t you must be more cautious, and not kill yourself by attracting all the monsters. Help kill the monsters that are already aggroed by somebody else if this is the case. If you’re lucky and you’re getting enough heals so that you don’t run out of pots in a reasonable amount of time, then you should be aggroing the monsters that are in your way, wait for it to die, and move on. In addition, if you notice a monster is attacking an archer, mage, or cleric use sneering kick to get the monster off the character.   Cleric Clerics are a dynamic class to play; they can fight, or be support. If there are very few clerics, it’s probably best to be support and heal everyone that needs the healing, especially your own party. This also involves scanning through players to make sure that they are at full health, and always pay attention to what people are saying, many times someone doesn’t have a cleric in their party and they yell out for a heal. If there is lots of healers, and you have the right build you can also help attack, or even tank. This method is for experienced and smart players. It involves healing yourself, and using bash to control the aggro. Just because you feel you are as strong, or stonger then the fighters doesn’t mean your should stop healing people. There is usually someone that needs a heal or two.   Archers and Mages Archers and mages basically have the same role, deal damage. If you attract aggro by accident, you can either tank that particular monster if you have the heals/pots to do it. If you don’t, the best you can do is run, and hope that a fighter will take the aggro for you. Step Three – First Boss Battles Important: Make sure all monsters have been lured away from Marlone and Mara before engaging.   Strategy with Ideal Group The ideal group for Mara Pirates’ Rage is a strong main tank with secondary tanks, enough clerics to keep the tanks alive, and strong DPS (Damage Per Second).   Main Tank The main tanks job is to keep the aggro off of everybody else. He pulls the closest pirate with sneering kick, and then moves him to an ideal position where the other fighters can attack from behind. The tank should be spamming sneering kick and mock so that the archers and mages don’t pull the aggro.   Other Fighters These guys wait for the main tank to put the enemy into position, then move around so that you’re attacking from behind, and at a distance. Sometimes this takes practice, but you SHOULD NOT be getting him by the AoE skill. The ideal position is directly behind, and as far back as possible. You should be using your skills so that Mara/Marlone's DEF and Attack right are lowered. Clerics The clerics job should be healing the main tank. There is also a fighter or two who doesn’t realize that you should be attacking from behind and will be getting hit as well. It’s the lower level clerics job to keep them healed up. If somebody dies, DO NOT resurrect them, unless you know the main tank will not die without your heal.   Damage Dealers Pretty simple job for you guys, just deal damage. If you pull aggro, RUN. Hopefully the main tank will realize soon enough and will be able to gain the aggro before your enemy catches up.   Strategy without Ideal Group If you don’t have a clerics then you may as well just quit, because no fighter will be able to pot fast enough to stay alive. If you don’t have any archers or mages, it’s still possible to slowly deal damage, but the strategy is the same. If you don’t have a fighter, or a fighter strong enough to tank, Mara Pirates’ Rage becomes extremely difficult, but is very possible. If this does happen the strategy is controlled chaos. The mages and archers all spread out from each other and just attack Mara or Marlone. The enemy will go to the person who pulls aggro and kills him/her. He will then just stand there for a little while and then once someone else pulls aggro, he’ll go and kill him/her. It’s difficult but possible if you have a smart enough group.   Fighters You guys basically just stand back if you can’t tank, because you’ll just get in the way. You won’t do any damage, and you’ll die and a resurrect will have to be wasted on you.   Clerics DO NOT GET IN THE ACTION. All clerics will be needed for resurrecting if this strategy is going to work. As soon as someone dies, resurrect them so they can continue to do damage. Don’t bother healing people, unless the person can take more then one hit.   Mages and Archers Just keep spamming your skills, and attacking. Don’t be scared to get killed, it’s the point of the whole strategy. A cleric will soon have you resurrected and ready for attacking.   Step Four – To the Boat This part is easy. Regular stategy. Kill the monsters and move forward, trying to avoid aggro. Try to stick together; nothing is worse then leaving your team mates behind. Step Five – On the Boat   Now as your going up the stairs to get on the boat, some decisions need to be made. There is two options you can choose.   1. Clear the right side This is basic, kill eveything on the right side of the boat, and anythign that is threatingin on the left side of the boat. The reason you only clear the right side, is because the stairs that Mara/Marlone come down end on the right side, so you don’t need to use the left side of the boat. If for some reason you want to clear out the left side aswell, feel fit, but the rest of the 14 people probably won’t like it.   2. Mob and Lure This tecnique is used to make the run go faster. A fighter, or cleric runs down to the right side of the boat and grabs all the aggros. Then he lures the all to the far left side of the boat and suicides. A cleric then proceeds to revive him, and bam, no monsters on the right side. This technique is best used for people who know what they are doing, because I see a lot of people die trying to do this.   Step Six – Final Boss Battles The final bosses, once again are Mara and Marlone. They are located on the second boat, and the real Mara and Marlone are surrounded by fake duplicates. These duplicates or “fakes” or quite an annoyance, and it is a waste of time to try and kill them. Therefore a simple strategy is put into place. A mage uses ice bolt, or a archer uses power shot and lures them to the right side of the empty boat, then the tank uses sneering kick to grab the aggro.   1. The Difference Between Fakes and Real 2. How to Pull Real Mara/Marlone Once you have determined the real from the fakes, an archer or mage should get ready to pull, and the tank should be at the bottom of the stairs waiting. The archer/mage then casts the longest range spell he has at the target, and starts running back to the other boat. Once down the stairs keep running, and the tanks should be waiting to steal the aggro from you.   3. Finishing Them Off Just like before, the tank should spam sneering kick, while the support fighters attack from behind using their skills. The clerics should be healing main tank, and watching out to see if any of the support tankers are getting hit. The mages and archers do what they do best; do damamge. If by some chance you get aggro, try running a bit, and hopefully the tank will pick up the slack and take aggro back. To do list for this guide: 1. Add coloured text to make it more readable/less confusing. 2. Add more situations that could arise in the KQ, and a strategy for each. 3. Add Pictures 4. Revise, and edit for spelling/grammar

The Mage is one with the magical energies of Isya, channeling arcane power and commanding it to do his bidding. The Mage may be frail and weak in body, but that is a worthy sacrifice for the strength of the mind. The Mage is the heavy hitter of the group, casting powerful damaging ranged spells at single and multiple targets. Enemies flee from the sounds of their fearsome incantations. The Mage is the only class  that begins with a starting spell, Magic Missile.           The Mage can equip a staff or a wand. They can only wear armor specific to their class and level. Main attributes are Intelligence(Fiesta gold) and spirit. This will increase your change for critical hits and add more spirit points. It is possible to put more points in Endurance if you would like more hit points. This will allow you to survive a little longer.           For your skill empowers (under skills button “K” key), focus on increasing damage output at first. This will help you in combat should you wish to solo. Focus on increasing the skill empowers of your fire spells for the biggest damage boost. You can also empower your beginning spell, Magic Missile. You can empower skills immediately starting at level 1.
