Welcome to the church and the cult! This is a fairly popular quest for the possible end items that can be pulled. With a good party and some planning this quest is very enjoyable with a show down between your forces and a powerful vampire at the end. To set up fighter types should bring forth silver weapons as well as ghost touch. Casters should bring fire wall, scorching ray, magic missile, resist energy, and protection from evil. Clerics should make sure to bring searing light, nimbus of light, and of course healing spells. Rogues are in heavy demand here as there are a large number of traps and the damage will wear on you. The most important thing to remember about fighting vampires is that they are vulnerable to silver weapons. Ideally, you will want a silver weapon. Also remember that just because you have the appropriate type for your weapon, it doesn't mean a vampire won't be wearing armor or have a spell cast upon him or her that has another type of damage reduction. The smart undead mastermind wears adamantine armor to offset the opponents who bring silver and other types of weapons.

Living on the fringes of civilization or in the wilderness, barbarians survive by taking foes head-on and being the last one standing. They are Eberron’s untrained warriors and gain more hit points than any other class, but can use only medium armor. Unlike fighters, who benefit from devotion to training, barbarians gain their fighting prowess as a matter of necessity. When a barbarian enters a rage, her frenzy usually doesn’t cease until all of her foes are vanquished—or she gets killed. Adventuring parties appreciate the brute strength and heavy hits barbarians contribute to the group. Barbarians almost never show cowardice, and adventurers quickly learn to rely on their savage determination. The barbarian class will pay off for players who want to take massive damage to protect traveling companions and still add damage for the team.

Many massively-multiplayer online games (MMOGs) make the cleric the general healer who stands at the back of a group and keeps the tanks alive. While clerics in DDO are still the primary healing class, they offer much more versatility to a group. They are capable of buffing the entire party’s combat skills or other important Ability scores, crowd control, and even some powerful offensive spell casting. Plus, clerics can enter front line combat, hiding behind shield and heavy armor to aid the fighters in bringing down their foes. Damage capabilities aside, clerics will be prized for their ability to heal in battle and keep fighters alive through the quest. Their ability to turn undead can also be highly useful when a group of adventurers knows it is going to be facing these necromantic creatures. Motivation Clerics travel to spread the word of their beliefs, stamp out their enemies, and recruit new converts. Some clerics travel to learn of the world so they can better serve their followers.

The Axelord is a dwarf who epitomizes the dwarvish love and skill with axes. The axelord loves nothing more than to wade into combat, cutting a swath among the foes of him or her and their allies. In battle they can use axes quickly at range and with great effect. Axelords gain a bonus to critical hits, a total bonus to hit (before item bonuses) of +9 and +9 damage with axes, and this applies to ranged weapons too (though the bonus to hit is two lower). Aside from being able to deliver raw, primal damage in combat, Axe lords are very able to survive in a hectic battlefield. They not only have a lot of hit points, they can gain great benefit from armor, being able to maintain a high dex bonus in addition to the full protection plate mail provides. They also have a high resistance to spells, making them hard to affect in other ways too.
