“Conquer the Seas” Expansion – December 2009

 

“Conquer the Seas” is Darkfall’s second major free expansion, the largest one ever. In this expansion the seas come alive with epic objectives, floating villages with player owned housing , the siege mechanics completely overhauled, characters with more specialization, racial differentiation, monsters completely reworked, player owned vendors together with hundreds of new features introduced, and thousands of improvements, and fixes implemented. This expansion represents a massive undertaking by the Darkfall developers and months of player feedback leading to the best Darkfall ever, and this is just the beginning.

Ho, ho, ho and Happy Holidays!

The team here at Mythic Entertainment is celebrating the end of a great year and the beginning of the next with 12 days of Mythic! Last Friday we kicked things off with simply a YouTube video and a tweet but now we want to give everyone a chance to join in on the fun!

Warhammer Online players with a Halloween spirit about them will have the chance to play in a holiday-themed event, Daemon Moon Rising beginning October 23rd. Grab the details below:

The Moon Rises and Chaos Reigns October 23rd through November 2nd

 

FAIRFAX, Virginia – October, 15 2009 – Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, today announced that the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), will host a special live event, Daemon Moon Rising, for a limited time during the 2009 Halloween season. Daemon Moon Rising, will run in-game from October 23rd through November 2nd, and will feature the Daemon Mask event quest, a new Daemonball Rally Public Quest, a special Realm vs. Realm scenario, and treats both fair and foul.

The latest update to Warhammer Online went live earlier, bringing many RvR changes to the game, and overhauling the new player experience.

New players of each realm will now start in the same zone, making the early stages of the game less of a solo experience. A number of other changes that improve the social aspect of WAR have also been introduced, including an automatic invite a starter guild and a channel dedicated to helping beginners. An apprentice system that is designed to allow players of any tier to be able to play together is now also live. Producer Jeff Skalski goes over the changes in his latest letter to the community, where he reveals that characters now have the option to walk and sit, something he feels Role Players will be particularly pleased about.

Q. With the removal of Forts from the T4 campaign, how are new players (or even existing players) supposed to gain Conqueror Gear? Is Conqueror Gear only going to be available through RvR Tokens and Land of the Dead? Is it available via the new Keep system? If it is, how does that affect Annihilator gear? Also, do have any info on the how we will obtain the items that were in the Purple and Blue bags from Fort takes and defenses? They had some really good items!
